Al Qasba
Best time to visit
Visit in the evening, an hour before sunset. That way you will experience the transition from day to night, when the light installations along the canal become most impressive, and the temperature is more pleasant for walking.
Budget tips
Walking and staying by the canal are completely free. A ride on the panoramic wheel costs around 30 AED per person, and sometimes they offer discounts for group visits. Bring your own snack and drink. There are enough benches by the water for everyone.

About
Quick facts: Along the Al Qasbe canal stands an impressive 60-meter-high panoramic wheel offering spectacular views of the coastline. Every year, more than 3 million visitors enjoy walking along the water, the cafes, and the evening light installations.
Highlights: When darkness falls, the entire canal turns into a gallery of light. Hundreds of spotlights in pastel colors illuminate the water and create a mirror effect. The best moment is five minutes before sunset, when the sky and the canal merge into shades of orange and purple.
Insider tips
- For the best photos, come 20 minutes before sunset and stand on the bridge that crosses the canal. From there you can see all the lighting at once.
- Avoid Friday evening when it is most crowded. On weekdays before 7 PM you have almost the entire place to yourself.
- Walk to the end of the canal where there is a quieter part with fewer people and benches in the shade of palm trees.
