Højdepunkter: I det øverste kapel glitrer 15 enorme vinduer, hver omkring 15 meter høje, som tilsammen dækker cirka 618 kvadratmeter og genfortæller 1.113 bibelske scener i et næsten overjordisk spil af rubinrødt og safirblåt lys. Kong Ludvig IX byggede hele rummet for at huse relikvier som Tornekrone, og i middelalderen blev de vist kun på særlige festdage, så farvespillet ramte en lille forsamling i en nærmest rituelt intens stilhed.

- Allow small bag or backpack rules, expect a security check and choose comfortable shoes; upper chapel is reached by a narrow spiral staircase.
