Hurtige fakta: Two towers crown this medieval church, one Romanesque from the 12th century and one Gothic added three centuries later, creating a striking mismatch. The crypt holds the tombs of the dukes of Württemberg, including the famous Eberhard the Bearded, plus two magnificent Renaissance bronze effigies.
Højdepunkter: Above the south choir windows, medieval stonemasons carved their own self-portraits, including a smiling craftsman holding his tools, a tiny human signature on a grand religious building. During restoration after WWII bombing, workers found medieval frescoes hidden beneath centuries of whitewash, revealing vivid 14th-century paintings that had been lost to memory.

- Climb the south tower on Saturdays for a sweeping city view, but go early as the narrow spiral stairs back up quickly.
- Look up at the choir vault, the 14th-century frescoes are easy to miss if you're focused on the floor tombs.
- Visit right before a Sunday service to hear the Baroque organ without the regular crowd of tourists.
- Dress modestly and keep your voice low, this is still an active congregation, not just a museum.
