Hurtige fakta: Bakken stiger 286 meter over havets overflade og fungerede som en større flådetræningsbase for Chola-dynastiet for århundreder siden. Dens unikke form, der ligner et musehoved, gav området dets navn, afledt af Malayalam-ordene "ezhi" (mus) og "mala" (bakke).
