Hurtige fakta: Tårnet er 36 meter højt og står på en bakke med udsigt over både fiskerlandsbyens havn og det åbne Arabiske Hav, med 144 trappetrin op til lanternen. Fyret blev tændt i 1972, men klipperne nedenfor modtog skibe allerede for omkring to tusind år siden.
Højdepunkter: Udsigten fra toppen fejer fra Kovalamstrandens bueformede sand i øst til den gamle havns farverige fiskerbåde i vest, et panorama der skifter hele tiden, når lyset bevæger sig. Lampen lyser 26 sømil ud i havet, og når aftenen falder på, er det let at ane de bål, vagtposter engang tændte på samme klippe for tusindvis af år siden.
