Hurtige fakta: Indrettet i en slående nygotisk palads fra 1800tallet beskytter dette museum over 180.000 genstande af litauisk folkekunst. Dets samling omfatter træ- og keramikskulpturer, tekstiler og malede møbler, der sporer livet på landet fra 1500tallet til begyndelsen af 1900tallet.

Højdepunkter: Tre enorme, indviklet udskårne træaltertavler fra 1700tallet dominerer hovedsalen, hver vejer over to tons og malet i levende koboltblå og vermilionrøde farver. Kig nøje på de mindste folkelige kors udstillet: nogle måler kun 15 cm i højden, men bærer over 40 særskilte miniatureudskæringer.
