Insidertips
- Start at the top floor and work your way down, ending in the convent church for a dramatic finale.
- The temporary exhibition space often features contemporary tile artists, check what is on before you go.
- Bring a notebook for the ground floor room where a 26-meter tile panel shows the 1755 earthquake destroying Lisbon.
- The cloister cafe has a small garden terrace, a quiet spot to rest away from crowds.
