Stockholm City Hall (Stadshuset)
Bedste tid at besøge
Early morning tours avoid the biggest crowds and provide soft light for photos. Summer evenings give long daylight and the best chance to climb the tower.
Budgettips
Guided tours typically cost about 120-150 SEK for adults with reduced rates for students and children, check the official site for current prices; tower access can be extra. Stockholm Pass sometimes includes entry, so compare offers and book online to skip the ticket queue.

Om
Hurtige fakta: Gilded crowns sparkle atop a tall brick tower, and a vast ceremonial hall becomes a hushed labyrinth of music and speeches during the Nobel Prize banquet. Curving staircases and glittering mosaics reveal surprising details, while 8,000 square meters of ornamented brickwork give the interiors a warm, tactile grandeur visitors love to photograph.
Højdepunkter: Every December about 1,300 guests gather for the Nobel Banquet in the so-called Blue Hall, which is cheekily not blue at all but a warm, echoing room of red brick where silverware chimes against grand chandeliers. Upstairs the Golden Hall explodes in more than 18 million gold-glass mosaic tiles laid by Einar Forseth, and the 106 meter tower topped by three golden crowns glints over the water like a lighthouse you can almost hear creak in the breeze.
Insidertips
- Wear comfortable shoes, the tower and rooms involve several flights of stairs.
- Join the first or second guided tour of the day to avoid crowds and get better photo opportunities.
- Stand on the southern side of the tower for the best views over Riddarholmen and Old Town at sunset.
- Check the official calendar before visiting, Nobel events and private functions close parts of the building without notice.
