Nopeat faktat: A deep pit below the monastery served as a prison for centuries, adding a mysterious aura to the site. The monastery offers stunning views of Mount Ararat, a symbol of Armenian heritage and legend.
Kohokohdat: Legend says Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years in the pit, surviving through miraculous means before the king converted to Christianity.
