Nopeat faktat: Pebbly shore glistens under the sun, with crystal-clear water perfect for quick swims and paddleboard rentals clustered along the promenade. From the beach you can watch sunset hues wash over medieval city walls while nearby cafés pour chilled local wine and summer DJs keep the atmosphere buzzing.

Kohokohdat: Every evening in summer about 20 local kayakers stage an informal 300-meter dash from the stone jetty to a red buoy, and the winner rings an old brass bell on the promenade to roaring applause. By day the water is an astonishing aquamarine you can see down to roughly 6 meters, while shore cafes blast chilled electro-Balkan beats and hand out tiny glasses of maraschino to toast the sunset.
