Bus tickets from Medan to Parapat can be booked last minute at the station, no need to pre-book online, often cheaper and more flexible.
Chilly mornings but beautiful views around Parapat make it worth packing a warm jacket. Great spot if you want a peaceful retreat for a few days.
Surprisingly quiet town, perfect if you want to escape the usual tourist buzz. Just be prepared for basic amenities, some places close early.
