Nopeat faktat: Perched at the southernmost tip of the island, this small Maya temple was dedicated to Ixchel, the goddess of the moon, fertility, and medicine. During the Maya postclassic period, women would make pilgrimages here to offer prayers and small fertility figurines, with over 3,000 of these artifacts discovered at the site.

Kohokohdat: Unlike the rebuilt temples at nearby ruins, this structure remains exactly as it was when Spanish conquistadors first spotted it from their ships in the 1500s. The weathered limestone platform sits directly on the edge of the cliffs, where wind and crashing waves have worn the stone smooth over centuries, giving it a melted, organic appearance that feels alive.
