Nopeat faktat: Punahiekkakivestä nousi lopulta vain noin 44 metriä suunnitellusta 86 metristä, ja rakennustyöt pysähtyivät lopullisesti sinä päivänä, kun sulttaani, joka oli määrännyt ne aloitettaviksi, kuoli vuonna 1199.
