Nopeat faktat: The fortress originally served as a police station and coast guard before being converted into a museum. Its thick limestone walls provide a pleasantly cool interior even on the hottest Gulf days.
Kohokohdat: From the battlements of the fortress, you have a breathtaking 360-degree view of the former pearl-diving town of Al Zubarah, whose ruins have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2013. If you look closely, you can still make out the outlines of over 60 mosques and hundreds of houses lying hidden beneath the desert sand.

- Climb the main tower for the best panoramic photo of the fortress and the adjacent desert landscape.

- Plan a desert safari in the afternoon, as the drive to the fortress leads through spectacular sand dunes that are perfect for a pit stop.
