Early morning or late afternoon for softer light and fewer coach groups, plus calmer sea conditions for clearer views.

About

Nopeat faktat: Perched on a windswept cliff, the viewpoint offers sweeping ocean panoramas that reduce distant islets to postage stamps. Inside, curved glass and warm volcanic stone tame blustery winds, turning a quick stop into a lingering, photo-ready moment.

Kohokohdat: Perched roughly 475 meters above the strait, César Manrique carved the viewing rooms straight into the volcanic rock in 1973, using circular porthole windows that frame the tiny island across the channel like a living postcard. Inside, a low green-tiled bench and curved glass create an optical trick where boats look like toy models as they cross the roughly 1 kilometer channel, while the wind brings sharp salt and warm volcanic dust to your nose.

Insider tips

  • Dress in windproof layers and bring a hat, cliff-top winds are often strong even on sunny days.
  • Arrive right after opening or late afternoon to avoid coach groups and get unobstructed photos from the terraces.
  • Use the indoor circular windows and the upper terrace for framed shots of La Graciosa, and bring a telephoto lens for the distant islets.
  • Park in the official lot and follow the short path to the viewpoint; if short on time skip the gift shop and head straight to the viewing platforms.
