The park sits on the former grounds of Holland House, a grand Jacobean mansion that was largely destroyed by bombing in 1940 during the Blitz.
Kohokohdat: The Kyoto Garden, a Japanese garden gifted to London by the city of Kyoto in 1991, feels like stumbling into another world with its tiered waterfall, koi-filled pond, and perfectly pruned maples. Peacocks roam freely here and their piercing calls echo through the bamboo, creating a surreal contrast with the sound of traffic from Kensington High Street just beyond the treeline.
