Nopeat faktat: Three Roman sarcophagi rest inside the abbey church, repurposed as tombs for the Doria family. Monks once fortified this cove against pirate raids, and the bell tower doubled as a watchtower.

Rainwater drips through the center opening onto a mosaic of white and black pebbles, a pattern that has washed the same stone floor for over 700 years.
