Γρήγορα στοιχεία: Περίπου 15 πέτρινες κατασκευές είναι διάσπαρτες σε ένα βραχώδες υψίπεδο, ένα οχυρό που έστησε ο λαός των Ατακαμένιο κατά τον Μεσαίωνα. Μια αιματηρή μάχη το 1540 ανάγκασε τους υπερασπιστές να εγκαταλείψουν το υψίπεδο, και τα απομεινάρια του τείχους στέκονται ακόμα και σήμερα.

- Come for sunset for golden light over the valley, but allow time to get back down before darkness falls.
- Take the opportunity to photograph the volcano from the upper terraces, where you get the whole mountain range in the frame.
- Skip the guided tours if you are an experienced hiker, the trail is easy to find on your own.
