Spring and autumn (March to May, September to November) are best, with cool weather, misty mountain scenery, and the most beautiful views. Arriving before 7 a.m. lets you beat the tour group rush and enjoy the quiet of the forest alone.

Front mountain tickets cost 80 yuan, back mountain 20 yuan. Buying the Dujiangyan + Qingcheng Mountain combo ticket in downtown Chengdu saves about 30 yuan. Students and seniors over 60 get half price with valid ID.

Σχετικά

Γρήγορα στοιχεία: Mount Qingcheng is divided into the front mountain and the back mountain. The front mountain is dotted with Taoist temples and thrives on incense offerings, while the back mountain is more secluded and pristine. It is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Taoism, with 36 Taoist temples remaining on the mountain, originally built during the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Αξιοσημείωτα: In the morning mist in front of Laojun Pavilion, you can glimpse the white-robed figures of Taoist priests practicing tai chi, appearing and disappearing as if from a thousand years ago. Even more delightful is the sound of the stream in the Five Dragon Ravine on the back mountain, interwoven with bird calls. Along the way, you might even encounter wild macaques in the mountains, creating a scene that rivals any martial arts novel.

Εσωτερικές συμβουλές

  • Wear comfortable, non-slip hiking shoes. The stone steps are especially slippery after rain.
  • The breakfast stall outside Jianfu Palace at the front mountain sells ciba rice cakes and soy milk that locals love. Five yuan gets you a full meal.
  • Don't just stick to the main path. Turn onto the small trail beside Tianshi Cave, where there is a 1,800-year-old ginkgo tree.
  • For photos, choose an overcast day or a morning with light mist. Strong sunlight actually can't capture the ethereal beauty of the mountains.
