Γρήγορα στοιχεία: Twelve-foot-tall brass and clay statues of the civil god Man Cheong and martial god Mo Tai watch over worshippers who burn giant hanging coils of incense. The temple draws thousands of students each exam season to ask Man Cheong for academic luck, with some coils burning for up to two weeks straight.

Αξιοσημείωτα: The ceiling is hung with enormous spiral incense coils, some as big as car tires, that twist slowly for days while smoke curls through the rafters and dims the whole hall in a golden haze. On exam season mornings, the space fills with so much smoke that worshippers can barely see the 12-foot statues through the swirl.

• Photograph the giant spiral coils from the ground floor looking up, but expect smoky lens haze, bring wipes or a lens pen.
• Stand near the side veranda if the smoke gets too thick, you can still see the main hall while breathing easier.
• The temple is on a steep slope, wear flat comfortable shoes since the surrounding streets are all stairs and inclines.
• Skip the small souvenir shop at the exit and instead grab snacks at the dai pai dong stalls around the corner on Hollywood Road.
