Γρήγορα στοιχεία: Αυτό το φρούριο βρίσκεται πάνω σε έναν βράχο ύψους 20 μέτρων, που υψώνεται πάνω από μια κοιλάδα wadi. Τα τείχη του φτάνουν σε πάχος έως 3 μέτρα, και στο εσωτερικό του κρύβονται υπόγειες σήραγγες που οδηγούσαν σε μυστικές πηγές νερού.
Αξιοσημείωτα: Κοιτάζοντας από τον πύργο, ανοίγεται το μοναδικό μέρος στο Ομάν όπου η έρημος συναντά τον ωκεανό, ένα θέαμα για το οποίο οι φωτογράφοι θα έδιναν τον μισό τους εξοπλισμό. Στα τείχη του φρουρίου διακρίνονται ακόμα αρχαίες επιγραφές που άφησαν Πορτογάλοι ναυτικοί πριν από 400 χρόνια.

- Don't miss the chance to climb to the very top tower: it offers the best view over the entire bay and the city.
- Come on weekdays, when there are almost no visitors, while on weekends local families have picnics here.
- Try to find the old Portuguese carved marks on the southern wall: it is a detail known to very few.
- Wear comfortable shoes: the steps are stone and quite steep, and handrails are not everywhere.
