On weekdays in the morning, right at opening time at 9 AM, when there are the fewest crowds and the animals are most active after the morning feeding. The rainy season from May to October brings fresher air, but bring an umbrella.

Gyors tények: A Finca La Aurora területén belüli 21 hektáros területen több mint 280 állatfaj található, ami Guatemala legnagyobb állatkertjévé teszi. Itt találhatók a híres lakók is, köztük az öreg andoki kondor, amely több mint három évtizede ugyanazon a helyen fészkel, és csaknem három méteres kitárt szárnyaival rendszeresen vonzza a látogatókat.

- Head first to the bird aviary, because the morning fog and dew make it the most photogenic and the birds are the loudest then.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes, because the paths through the garden are long and sloping in places.
- Come during the week before 10 AM to avoid school groups that fill the main paths.
- After your visit, stop by the nearby zoo park, where there is also a small train that takes you through additional parts of the estate.
