About
Gyors tények: A compact funicular whisks visitors up a steep limestone slope, delivering a sweeping panorama that frames the Maritime Alps and the solitary profile of Monviso on clear days. Evening visits turn practical details into spectacle, as streetlights flick on and the air fills with espresso and toasted hazelnut aromas from nearby cafés, making the view feel cinematic and intimate.
Kiemelkedő helyek: A 90-second funicular ride ends on a terrace where pine resin and stone dust mingle in the wind, creating a tactile soundtrack for photographers chasing golden-hour light. A quirky local ritual sees about 108 smooth pebbles arranged along the balustrade before sunset, the gentle clinking becoming a rhythm that people say improves the framing of panoramic shots.
Insider tips
- Wear layers and a windproof jacket, evenings can be chilly even in summer.
- Bring a telephoto or zoom lens for Alpine details and distant villages.
- Arrive 30 minutes before sunset for best light and fewer people, and stay after dark for illuminated town views.
- Take the funicular from Breo to avoid steep climbs and limited parking near the viewpoint.

4.0Sunset was crowded and parking took forever. Nice panorama but overpriced souvenir shop and limited seating made it less relaxing.
Arrived at 9am and walked right in with few people. The view over the Alps is stunning; the small café is worth the extra cost.
Went late afternoon, busy but still manageable. Free viewpoint is excellent, but mosaics inside had a small entrance fee I skipped.
