Honestly, Yoshino feels a bit too touristy during peak season. Loved the sake tastings but pricey. Would skip winter, too cold for me.
Great vibes, mix of peaceful nature and lively small shops. The tempura I had was some of the best in Japan. Two days was enough for me.
Skip the restaurants near the cable car station. Walk down a bit and you’ll find tiny family-owned spots with killer udon at half the price.
The cherry blossoms are unreal in spring but expect big crowds. Weather was perfect and food super fresh. Stayed 3 days and felt it was just right.
If you're heading to the mountain, grab a prepaid bus card at the station. It saved me so much hassle and a bit of cash. Also avoid weekends if you want less crowd.
