Early morning hours (08:00-10:00) are ideal; when the lake surface is calm, the sound of the waterfall is heard more clearly and sunlight creates rainbows in the water droplets. The rainy season (September-November) is when the water flow is at its strongest.

Gyors tények: Ez a vörös sziklákról alázúduló vízesés a Kivu-tóba ömlő egyetlen nagy természetes vízforrás, és még a száraz évszakban sem veszít vízhozamából. A helyi lakosok hisznek a víz gyógyító erejében; minden év augusztusában hagyományos vízünnepet tartanak a vízesés környékén.
Főbb látnivalók: A vízesés mögött egy kis barlangbejárat található, amelyen át lehet sétálni a zúgó víz mögött; bent a levegő folyamatosan hűvös, és a víz zaja visszhangzik. A helyi gyerekek elbeszélése szerint a barlang mélyén egy idős asszony minden esős évszakban új dalt tanít a vízesésnek.

- Wear shoes with waterproof soles against slippery rocks; the ground near the waterfall is always wet.
- You can climb onto the large rock in front of the waterfall and step barefoot into the water, but the rocks are very slippery.
- For the best photo spot, try the wooden platform on the left side of the waterfall; the light looks wonderful from here at sunset.
- On minibuses coming from Kibuye, just say "Ndaba" to the driver before getting off, and they will drop you at the village entrance.
