Gyors tények: Három gótikus oltár maradt fenn a 15. és 16. századból ebben a Szepesszombati evangélikus templomban, amely Szlovákia egyik legjobban megőrzött középkori oltáregyüttese. A templom egy olyan téren áll, ahol egykor kivégzéseket tartottak, a kaloda a közelben ma is áll.
Főbb látnivalók: A fő gótikus oltárkép 12 méter magasra tornyosul, és 126 részletgazdag, hársfából faragott figurát tartalmaz, mindegyik 1516-ból származó eredeti. Az aranyozott részletek 500 év után is csillognak, mert a templomot soha nem fosztották ki és nem festették át.

- Ask the caretaker to point out the carved mouse hiding among the figures on the main altar, a medieval sculptor's signature trick.
- Bring a small flashlight to examine the painted panels on the side altars, as some details are hard to see in the dim light.
- Climb the bell tower for a panoramic view of the High Tatras, but check ahead as it opens only on request.
- Visit the pillory outside in the square afterward and imagine the executions that once took place here.
