Gyors tények: Stretching over 3 kilometers along Las Palmas' coastline, this urban beach is actually a protected marine reserve thanks to its natural offshore reef barrier. The golden sand was imported from the Sahara Desert in the 1970s after storms washed away the original beach.
Főbb látnivalók: At low tide, you can walk out onto La Barra, the volcanic reef that runs parallel to the shore and creates calm, shallow pools teeming with tiny crabs and starfish. Locals gather here at sunset to watch the waves crash over the reef while the city lights begin to flicker behind them.

- Walk to the northern end (Las Canteras corner) for the best sunset photos with the reef in the foreground.
- Water shoes are a good idea at low tide when the volcanic reef becomes exposed and can be sharp on bare feet.
- Skip the restaurants right on the sand and walk one block inland for better value and authentic Canarian cuisine.
- Arrive before 10 AM on weekends if you want a good spot without the crowds.
