Gyors tények: Behind glass lies the original sapphire-studded stage costume of Turkey's most celebrated singer, complete with his trademark wig and makeup table exactly as he left them. The museum occupies the modest pink house where Zeki Müren spent his final 15 summers, and his unreleased recordings still play softly through hidden speakers in each room.
Főbb látnivalók: Visitors can stand in the actual bathroom where Müren would spend three hours preparing before performances, his 400-plus pairs of sunglasses still stacked in cabinets nearby. His original Renault car sits in the garden with the odometer reading exactly 22,487 kilometers, the distance he drove between Bodrum and Istanbul over those 15 summers.
Bennfentes tippek
- The upstairs balcony is often overlooked but offers the best view of his handwritten poetry collection displayed in glass cases.
- Photography without flash is allowed, but the bedroom room has a mirror trick that makes for an excellent selfie with the costume display.
- Visit after 3 PM when the morning tour buses have departed and you may have entire rooms to yourself.
- The garden cafe next door plays his music softly and serves the same çay he used to drink each afternoon.
