- Grab the map and head straight for the Art of the Americas wing, the deepest collection of its kind in the country.
- Covering every gallery adds up to serious mileage, so pick one or two wings and save the rest for a return trip.
- Photography is allowed in the permanent galleries, so leave the flash off and frame the Chinese porcelain room's painted ceiling.
- Arrive right at 4 pm on a Wednesday if you want a quieter start before the free-admission crowds build.
