Highlights: A peculiarity is that the hills change color during the day. In the morning they are golden brown, at noon almost white, and at sunset they glow reddish. Geologists to this day cannot exactly explain why the rock composition is so unique compared to the surrounding landscape.
5. Gacan Libaax Zoo

Weather was decent in December but the dust gets everywhere. Pack a scarf for your face if you're not used to it.
Mixed feelings. Some parts are beautiful and raw but the lack of infrastructure gets tiring. Not for first time travelers.
Came for 3 days, stayed a full week. The energy here is something else. Markets are chaotic but the roasted goat is unforgettable.
Friday mornings are dead quiet for shopping. Everything closes for prayers. Plan your market visits for Saturday instead.
Exchange money at the main market stalls not the hotels. You get 10-15% more. Also carry small bills for taxis and tea stalls.
