Best time to visit is spring or autumn, summer gets too crowded and hotel prices spike. Loved the local cafes though, coffee was solid.
Food options were limited if you're vegetarian. Be prepared to drive out for more variety. Roads are quiet and safe, great for leisurely drives.
If you want local eats, skip the main street and try the bakery down the road, great pies and less tourist prices.
Stayed only a day, wished we had more time. The green hills are something else and the town has a slow pace that's quite relaxing.
The town itself is small and feels sleepy, but the Hobbit tours bring in a lot of tourists. Overall, a cool spot but not a must-stay long.
