1. Charles Darwin Research Station

Cute little town but man is it expensive. Everything gets flown or shipped in so a simple dinner ran us $35. The waterfront at sunset is worth it though.
Didn't expect the food scene to be this solid. Lionfish ceviche, the empanadas from the little carts, and ice cold beer. Sure it's tourist priced but it tastes incredible.
People complain about the garua mist but we got perfect sunny days in January. Actually liked how laid back and slow everything felt here. Really easy to just wander.
Skip the spots facing the main square. Walk two blocks inland and find a local almuerzo, lunch special with soup, fish and juice for less than half what tourists pay.
Maybe I overhyped it in my head. It's really just a dusty main street packed with souvenir shops and tour agencies. Two full days was more than enough.
