Plan language: PolskiThings to do in Greece include exploring the Acropolis in Athens, which offers breathtaking views from its 278-meter height and historical insight. Visit Santorini Caldera for dramatic volcanic landscapes and sunsets. Delve into history at Delphi Archaeological Site, once considered the center of the world by ancient Greeks.

Athens
Szybkie fakty: Climbing the sun-warmed marble steps, you notice deliberate optical corrections and a subtle curvature that make the whole façade seem perfectly straight from below. Surprisingly, many of the finest sculpted panels are scattered across museums, so spotting chisel marks and traces of original paint up close feels like uncovering a secret conversation between ancient artisans.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Look up and you'll notice eight columns across the front and 17 down each side, but the real trick is the optical refinements: every column bulges slightly and leans inward by a few centimeters so from the ground they look perfectly straight. Back in 1687 a Venetian mortar struck the gunpowder stored inside, blowing out part of the inner chamber and flinging shards of gilded ivory and bronze skyward, and if you peer closely you can still see faint scorch marks and pockmarks on the marble.

Santorini
Breathtaking cliffside views and iconic architecture await your discovery. Experience vibrant sunsets and serene blue waters like nowhere else on earth.
Szybkie fakty: The caldera formed after a massive volcanic eruption thousands of years ago shaped the crescent-shaped bay recognized worldwide. Its steep cliffs rise dramatically from the crystal waters below, offering unmatched panoramic views.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: The cliffs hold charming white-washed houses and sapphire-domed churches that seem to float above the sea. As the sun sets, the golden light reflects off the waters, creating a shimmering spectacle that attracts photographers globally.

Delphi
Step into a world of ancient prophecy and myth. Walk majestic ruins that overlook breathtaking mountain views.
Szybkie fakty: Ancient voices once echoed here, with the Oracle delivering prophecies that shaped entire civilizations. Its ruins sit dramatically on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, overlooking the shimmering valley below.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Secret tunnels run beneath the Temple of Apollo, where priests supposedly consulted cryptic vapors to interpret Apollo's will. Walking among monumental stone columns, you'll almost hear whispers of past rituals and fierce political debates.

Kalambaka
Epic rock formations and ancient spiritual retreats await. Experience otherworldly views and tranquil paths carved through the sky.
Szybkie fakty: Clifftop monasteries perch atop gigantic rock pillars, seemingly defying gravity in central Greece. They were once accessible only by rope ladders and baskets, adding to their mystique and spiritual isolation.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Watching monks at dawn move through narrow stone corridors bathed in golden light gives a glimpse into secluded monastic life. The stunning panoramic views from each monastery include sprawling valleys and jagged cliffs, almost as if standing on another planet.

Athens
Szybkie fakty: Steep, narrow streets lined with cascading bougainvillea and tiny tavernas make wandering feel like stepping into a living postcard, where every corner hides an artisan shop or a secret courtyard. Visitors often find lively music spilling from cafes as locals and travelers sample syrupy sweets and strong coffee while ancient ruins unexpectedly peek out between neoclassical facades.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Sun-warmed, maze-like cobblestone alleys host an elderly bouzouki player named Nikos Papadopoulos who for 18 summers has played the same three-hour dusk set while neighbors slide plates of honeyed baklava and a small glass of raki onto the low stone wall as a thank-you. On Sundays shopkeepers flip a coin to choose which of their twelve hand-painted worry dolls gets hung above the doorway, so by night the air fills with wood-smoke, jasmine and the metallic clink of copper trays as families haggle over roasted chestnuts.

Epidaurus
Step into an extraordinary theater where every whisper travels to the back row. Experience ancient acoustics and sweeping views bathed in Aegean sunlight.
Szybkie fakty: Seats stretch out in a perfect semicircle, fitting up to 14,000 spectators with crystal-clear acoustics. Ancient voices can be heard from the center stage even if whispered, thanks to clever engineering.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Stone tiers curve around the hillside like a giant spiraling shell, with ancient limestone performing like a natural amplifier. The secret lies in the design with tiny gaps and lateral waves crafted into each step making every sound crystal clear.

Mykonos
Experience timeless charm and breathtaking views at this iconic spot. Watch sunsets light up historic windmill sails by the Aegean Sea.
Szybkie fakty: These windmills once powered the island's flour mills using strong Aegean winds. Their iconic round shapes and bright white paint make for a stunning contrast against the deep blue sea and sky.
Najważniejsze atrakcje: Fans of sunsets gather here to watch the golden hour paint the windmill sails in glowing amber hues. At night, they turn into silhouettes against the lively lights of the nearby town, creating a magical scene few spots can match.

Loved the food and vibes but July was brutally hot. Two weeks was perfect to explore islands and Athens. Would go again in spring for sure.
The local tavernas serve the freshest seafood, don’t miss trying grilled octopus. Food alone made the trip worthwhile.
Museums in Athens have free entry on first Sunday of every month. Great if you’re on a tight budget and love history.
Athens charm is real but traffic is hectic and the metro can be confusing for newbies. Plan your route.
If you want authentic Greek coffee, skip cafes on main squares and check old neighborhood coffee shops instead.
