Got rained out two days but the lake views on sunny days made up for it. Wish we booked 3 nights instead of 1.
Go on a weekday in late May. Fewer crowds, everything open, and the water is swimmable without paying peak July rates.
Tagore promenade at sunset is gorgeous but good luck finding parking anywhere near the center. Street food was surprisingly good though.
Honestly a bit too quiet for my taste. If you don't want nightlife this place is fine but I got bored after two days.
If you want cheap eats, walk away from Tagore promenade into the side streets. We found a tiny place doing fish paprikash for half the tourist menu prices.
