Najważniejsze atrakcje: W złotej sali muzeum wisi 2300-letni złoty pas z kultury sogdyjskiej, tak misternie rzeźbiony, że widać każdy włos w grzywach lwów. Kolekcja zoroastryjskich glinianych tabliczek z pismem sogdyjskim jest największą poza Iranem i daje niezwykły wgląd w dawno minioną kulturę handlową, którą niewielu zna.

- Go straight to the gold room on the 2nd floor first, so you have full energy for the most impressive exhibitions.
- Rent an audio guide or book an English-speaking guide at the entrance. The signs are only in Uzbek and Russian.
- Photography is allowed without flash in most halls, but the gold room has a ban on photos.
- Set aside 30 minutes for the 4th floor, which covers the Soviet era and modern Uzbekistan. Very few people make it up there.
