Dolphinarium Varna
Best time to visit
It is best to come to the morning show at 10:30, when the dolphins are most active and fresh. In the summer months, shows are more frequent, but the crowds are also bigger, so we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early.
Budget tips
A ticket for adults costs around 15 euros, while children pay half price. Family packages are more affordable, and we recommend buying tickets online, where discounts of up to 10% are available.

About
Quick facts: The dolphinarium in Varna is one of the largest in the Balkans and home to four dolphins that together perform more than 500 shows per year. During the shows, the dolphins can be seen jumping up to 5 meters high into the air.
Highlights: The dolphins here are known for often improvising and playing with the trainers during shows, which makes each visit unique. In the pool with 3 million liters of sea water, you can also swim with the dolphins yourself, a rare opportunity in Europe.
Insider tips
- Seats in the third row from the stage offer the best view, as the dolphins often splash the first rows during their jumps.
- Bring a towel and spare clothes if you want to swim with the dolphins, as the program is quite demanding physically for the average swimmer.
- Photography without flash is allowed, but for really good shots, use a fast aperture and follow the dolphins with your eyes.
- Avoid visiting between 1:00 and 3:00 PM in summer, when the heat is most uncomfortable and the stands are sunny.
