Food was surprisingly good around the main market, though sellers push a bit hard. Early morning walks through the temples really calm down the vibe.
The sunsets over the boulders are unforgettable, easy to forget the basic facilities are lacking sometimes. The vibe is chill but can feel touristy near the big spots.
Buy cold water from local shops early in the day. Plus, there are free evening cultural shows near the Virupaksha temple that many miss.
Hampi's ruins are stunning but can get really crowded by noon. Weather was hot, so bring water and a hat. Worth at least two full days here.
If you want to do the scooter rental, check the brakes before leaving, mine was sketchy and hard to stop in busy areas.
