Rýchle fakty: Holding over 15,000 artifacts from the 7th century onward, this is the oldest museum in Bangladesh. The ornate Indo-Saracenic building itself was completed in 1913, designed by the same architect who worked on Kolkata's Victoria Memorial.
Zaujímavosti: The museum houses 54 original terracotta plaques from the 8th century Somapura Mahavihara, rescued from a collapsed monastery wall. You can press your palm against the same carved stone elephants and dancers that monks walked past over 1,200 years ago.
