Rýchle fakty: Dark volcanic sand gives this lakeside strand a charcoal tint, a byproduct of the 2,847-meter volcano that looms directly over the water. Even during January's warmest days the lake sits near 18°C, so swimmers wade in for a bracing shock before baking on the black sand.
