Rýchle fakty: Domom pre viac ako 2 000 druhov rastlín rozmiestnených na ploche 273 akrov je tento botanický záhrad v viktoriánskom štýle, ktorý pochádza z roku 1787. Jeho slávny 200-ročný Veľký banyan pokrýva 4,4 akra, čím sa stáva jednou z najväčších korún na svete.
Zaujímavosti: Veľký banyan tu nie je len starý, je živým lesom viac ako 3 600 vzdušných koreňov, ktoré vyzerajú ako jednotlivé kmene podopierajúce jednu mohutnú korunu. Po údere blesku a hubovej infekcii v dvadsiatych rokoch 20. storočia bol odstránený pôvodný hlavný kmeň, no strom ďalej rástol a rozširoval sa, čím sa v podstate stal svojím vlastným klonom.
