Rýchle fakty: Zasvätený pánovi Šivovi, tento chrám stojí na brehu lagúny Kavvayi v severnej Kérale. Hlavné božstvo je samozjavené (Swayambhu) Šiva lingam, o ktorom miestni veria, že ho objavil farmár pred storočiami pri oraní svojho poľa.

Počas každoročného festivalu Kalasham sú chrámové nádrže osvetlené vyše 10 000 olejovými lampami naraz, ich odrazy sa vlnia na tmavej vode, zatiaľ čo kňazi spievajú starodávne védské hymny.
