Rýchle fakty: Odliv môže posunúť pobrežie o stovky metrov späť, pričom odkryje zvlnené pieskové lavice posiate celými škrupinkami kauri. Približne 3 000 somárov preváža všetko po tomto ostrove bez áut, takže zvukovou kulisou pláže sú klopkanie kopýt, volania k modlitbe a vŕzganie sťažňov plachetníc dhow.
Zaujímavosti: Asi 25 minút chôdze naboso od dediny sa pláž končí pri bledej dune, ktorú miestni vždy nazývali „hora piesku“, a výstup na jej 30-metrovú stenu vás odmení úplným výhľadom na kanál. V pokojné, bezveterné rána sa korytnačky zelené vynárajú priamo v plytčine vedľa zakotvených plachetníc dhow, tak blízko, že počujete výdych ich dychu pri vynorení.
