Rýchle fakty: One stave church was brought here from Fortun in the Sogn region to save it from demolition, preserving its intricate wooden carvings from the 12th century. The church was tragically burned down by arsonists in 1992 and then meticulously reconstructed over six years using original techniques and materials.
Zaujímavosti: A fascinating detail is that original medieval wood with rune inscriptions was salvaged and reused in the rebuilding process, connecting visitors directly to the past. Visitors can walk inside a church that is nearly identical to the 12th-century original, feeling the aged wood scent and seeing the dragon head carvings up close.
