Early morning hours (08:00-10:00) are ideal; when the lake surface is calm, the sound of the waterfall is heard more clearly and sunlight creates rainbows in the water droplets. The rainy season (September-November) is when the water flow is at its strongest.

Rýchle fakty: Tento vodopád padajúci z červených skál je jediným veľkým prírodným zdrojom vody, ktorý sa vlieva do Kivu jazera, a nestráca svoj prietok ani počas suchého obdobia. Miestni obyvatelia veria, že voda má liečivé účinky; každý rok v auguste sa okolo vodopádu koná tradičný vodný festival.
Zaujímavosti: Za vodopádom je malý vchod do jaskyne, cez ktorý môžete prejsť za hrmiacou vodou; vnútri je vzduch neustále chladný a zvuk vody sa ozýva. Podľa rozprávania miestnych detí sa verí, že v hlbinách jaskyne stará žena každú dažďovú sezónu naučí vodopád novú pieseň.

- Wear shoes with waterproof soles against slippery rocks; the ground near the waterfall is always wet.
- You can climb onto the large rock in front of the waterfall and step barefoot into the water, but the rocks are very slippery.
- For the best photo spot, try the wooden platform on the left side of the waterfall; the light looks wonderful from here at sunset.
- On minibuses coming from Kibuye, just say "Ndaba" to the driver before getting off, and they will drop you at the village entrance.
