Rýchle fakty: Tieto stredoveké opevnenia s dĺžkou vyše 1,2 kilometra kedysi obopínali celé staré mesto v ochrannom kamennom objatí. Takmer 80 percent pôvodných múrov zostáva neporušených, vďaka čomu patria medzi najlepšie zachované mestské hradby na Slovensku.
Zaujímavosti: Na rozdiel od väčšiny stredovekých hradieb, ktoré boli zbúrané kvôli rozvoju miest, tieto prežili, pretože miestni premenili ich časti na zadné steny svojich domov a záhrad. Prejdite sa po úzkej cestičke popri nich a stále môžete vidieť pôvodné strelnice a renesančnú baštu zo 16. storočia s múrmi hrubými vyše dva metre.
