Rýchle fakty: Výroba vlny urobila toto mesto v staroveku nesmierne bohatým, pričom miestne ovce boli cenené pre svoju tmavofialovočiernu vlnu. Mohutné zemetrasenie zrovnalo mesto so zemou v 7. storočí a jeho ruiny zostali pochované pod 10 metrami riečneho bahna.

Zaujímavosti: Na rozdiel od svojich známejších susedov Hierapolis a Laodicea, táto lokalita zostáva takmer úplne nevykopaná, čo znamená, že celé rímske mesto spí pod roľníckymi poliami.
