Rýchle fakty: Three tiers of bronze-colored aluminum lattice wrap the 400,000-square-foot building, echoing the ironwork crafted by enslaved Black artisans in Charleston and New Orleans. More than 40,000 artifacts fill the galleries, including a segregation-era railway car and a hat belonging to civil rights icon Muhammad Ali.
