Go in the late morning on a weekday, when tour groups haven't arrived and shopkeepers have time to demonstrate their craft. Spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for the uphill walk to the castle.

Entry to the bazaar street itself is free, with the castle museum above charging around 300 lek per adult. Haggle politely on copper and wool items, and expect prices at the top of the lane near the castle to run 20 to 30 percent higher than at the lower shops.

Hızlı bilgiler: Arnavut kaldırımlı çarşı, ulusal kahraman İskender Bey'in bir zamanlar Osmanlı kuşatmalarına karşı direndiği 15. yüzyıl Krujë Kalesi'nin duvarlarının hemen altında son bulan dik bir yamaç yolunu takip eder. 300'den fazla geleneksel el sanatı dükkânı bu 250 metrelik sokağı kaplar ve burası Arnavutluk'un en iyi korunmuş Osmanlı dönemi pazar caddelerinden biridir.
Öne çıkanlar: Tezgâhların çoğu hâlâ, birçoğunda yüzyıllardır el değmemiş demir parmaklıklar ve ahşap kepenkler bulunan orijinal 16. ve 17. yüzyıl taş dükkânlarından faaliyet gösterir. Esnaf burada hâlâ büyük büyükbabalarının kullandığı atölyelerde elle bakır eşya döver; bu yüzden ziyaretçiler sokakta yankılanan düzenli metal üstüne metal sesini duyar.

- Wear sturdy shoes with grip, the old cobblestones get slick and uneven, especially after rain.
- Visit the lower end of the lane first for better prices, then browse upward toward the castle so you end the walk at the scenic gate.
- Ask to see the back rooms of copper shops, many keep older hand-hammered pieces separate from the newer machine-made stock.
- Stop for a glass of boza or a cup of Turkish coffee at one of the tiny cafés halfway up, the people watching from those terraces is excellent.
