Hızlı bilgiler: A university town where roughly one in three residents is a student, giving the old quarter an unmistakably youthful energy. The Neckar River bends through the center, and wooden punts called Stocherkähne have been poling students and visitors along it since the early 1900s.
Öne çıkanlar: Climb the 216 steps of the Hölderlin Tower, where the poet Friedrich Hölderlin spent his final 36 years of madness, and look out over rooftops that have barely changed since his time. On the market square, the astronomical clock on the Rathaus still shows the phases of the moon, and the whole town smells of fresh pretzels and river water by mid-morning.

- The best photo spot is from the Holzbrücke at golden hour, where the Hölderlin Tower and river reflections line up perfectly.

- If you want a quieter river experience, rent a kayak or paddleboard at the Neckar island instead of the busier punt tours.
