If you like temples, Borobudur is a must see but expect crowds especially by midday. Early morning visits are quieter.
I stayed 3 days and found the food decent but a bit repetitive. Loved the street snacks though, very authentic and cheap.
Magelang is chill but the weather can turn rainy quick. Two days might be enough unless you want a slow vibe day in local cafes.
The town feels safe and friendly. Not a big party spot, more about relaxing and nature. Best for a peaceful break from city chaos.
Cash is king here. Some small shops and cafes don’t take cards, so always carry some rupiah on you, even if you use digital payments elsewhere.
